Starcloud signed its first commercial contract to operate AI computing beyond Earth orbit, agreeing to fly its SC-1L AI compute payload aboard Firefly Aerospace's Elytra vehicle on the NASA-supported Blue Ghost Mission 3 to the Moon's Gruithuisen Domes, targeted for launch no earlier than 2028. The deal (also covered by GeekWire and other outlets) extends Starcloud's orbital AI data-center technology, previously demonstrated in low Earth orbit, to lunar distances for the first time.
